“Godzilla Dies.” That was the shocking tagline for the 1995 film “Godzilla Vs. Destoroyah,” and true to word, Godzilla really did die at the end of this masterpiece. The portrayal of 1995 Godzilla is already on sale in the S.H.MonsterArts series.

Now it is joined by “Burning Godzilla.” Alight with energy surging out of control within its body, Burning Godzilla is an iconic character from the Heisei Godzilla era. The prototype of the figure was sculpted with the participation of Yuji Sakai, who also worked on the actual film. Based on still photos from the production and his own memories, Sakai focused the same skills he used to create the “must-have” 1995 Godzilla figure. The Final Heisei Godzilla as a Fully Posable Action Figure

▲ Using the first Godzilla (left) as a base, an all-new head, chest, arms, and legs were commissioned for enhanced volume and presence. Translucent material was used for all parts to give them a realistically fiery appearance.

▲ The back fins use translucent material as well. Note the different arrangement as compared to the first Godzilla figure.

▲ The shoulders utilize double-axis ball joints. In order to provide both organic styling and enough room for posing, a spacer ring with realistic skin detailing fits between arm and shoulder.
▲ The legs also use double-axis ball joints. The waist area was sculpted with a space to accommodate wide stances.

▲ Posablity was improved along with the new parts, allowing the shoulders to move higher than the previous figure.
▲ The enhanced range of motion of the head, including more naturally placed joints.

▶ The initial production run comes with a Type 92 Maser Beam Tank and a Type 96 Cold Laser Tank. In spite of their small size, both feature detailed turrets, wheels, and coloring.
◀ The figure is packaged with optional “open hands,” letting you swap hands to match the situation.

S.H.MonsterArts Destoroyah (Final Form) On Sale February 2013

February 2013 marks the launch of Godzilla’s foe Destoroyah (Final Form), featuring the same massive proportions as the character in the film. Display it together with the separately sold 1995 Godzilla and the web-exclusive Godzilla Junior to complete the “Godzilla Vs. Destoroyah” trilogy of monsters! It’s the ultimate lineup of late Heisei era Godzilla figures.
